Thanksgiving Before Christmas

Sitting here in a coffee shop, and Christmas music comes on. Decorations are on the walls and in the shelves, hanging from the ceiling. Why are we in such a rush to bypass Thanksgiving and move on to Christmas?

I think its part of our humanistic society. WHO would we be thankful to for the blessings in our lives? The truth is God looks over all of us and yearns that we would know Jesus. He makes it possible for us to have the lives we have, and yet all too often, we are quick to believe that we are the ones in charge of our own lives and that every good thing we have comes from our own hands. Perhaps this is why it goes against our nature to offer thanks. But let's try... its only two more weeks before we can get that Christmas music going!
